Crystal Palace: Fans react to full squad limitations

Crystal Palace fans have responded on Twitter to the news that they have a full squad and therefore are unable to sign any free-agents before January.

According to The Athletic journalist Matt Woosnam, Crystal Palace cannot sign any players on a free until January due to their squad being at capacity, with the team already having over 25 players registered who are over the age of 21.

Interestingly, unlike most seasons at Selhurst Park, the official squad was not released by the club, making it hard to tell for fans whether or not Palace will be looking to buy players from the free-agent pool.

Palace were allegedly interested in signing Danny Simpson (TEAMtalk), however, Woosnam quashed those rumours by announcing that Palace are unable to sign anyone on a free until the transfer window reopens.

This could represent big issues for Palace, considering their lack of depth at right-back. Currently, they only have two players who can play in the position: Joel Ward and Martin Kelly – the latter of which has started both games at centre-half this season.

Many Palace fans on Twitter haven’t responded particularly well to the news, with some describing the situation as a “mess”, while another joked that “no wonder they haven’t announced” the squad considering the situation.

Here are some of the responses below…
