Crystal Palace: Fans react to news of forward search from journalist - Crystal Palace

Lots of Palace fans have responded to news from a Sky Sports journalist saying that Palace are looking to sign two forwards.

Michael Bridge, from Sky Sports News, tweeted from his personal account to let fans know that the club from Croydon are eyeing up Ollie Watkins from Brentford and Fedor Chalov from CSKA Moscow.

Palace fans responded in droves on Twitter to the tweet from Michael Bridge. There were 125 replies to the Tweet, as well as 99 retweets and 725 likes, at the time of writing (Wednesday, July 31).

The majority of Palace fans were actually thanking Michael Bridge for announcing some transfer news, rather than actually responding to the news about the players, which suggests that the fans have been less than excited by the business that they have done so far.

Palace have already added two players to the books and have lost Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for a reported £50m (The Telegraph). However, the players that Palace have bought have been Stephen Henderson – a suspected third-choice goalkeeper to Wayne Hennessey and Vicente Guaita – as well as Jordan Ayew for a reported £2.5m (BBC) – a player who was on loan at the club last year but was only on the periphery of the first team.

In the responses to Michael Bridge’s tweet were many memes and thank you messages for bringing some good news to SE25, as well as a few other comments about the players and whether they would be good additions for Palace.

Here are some of the best responses below…
