Our Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern are about as down as you can get at the moment but, according to Calciomercato, things might be about to get slightly better.
The Eagles were in high-spirits ahead of their game against Sunderland at the weekend and the atmosphere here by the bar was crackling as both sets of fans geared up for a massive six-pointer.
Only Sunderland turned up for the actual game, though, as they waltzed into a massive 4-0 lead by half-time to kill the game off and send Palace into some serious issues.
Even so, it appears they may be about to get another new signing in to help their plight with experienced Uruguayan Martin Caceres likely to join either Palace or Southampton.
The defender has played for the likes of Juventus in recent times but is currently a free-agent and reportedly turned down a move to AC Milan in favour of a move to these shores.
Our Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern certainly hope they can get him in, then, but wouldn’t be surprised to see Southampton nick him given the way their season has gone so far.
Would you take Caceres, Palace fans? Let us know below!
