Crystal Palace are preparing for their upcoming Premier League campaign and have been looking at trying to improve their squad this summer.
Roy Hodgson’s side found themselves near the bottom of the table for the majority of the season, however, performances from Wilfried Zaha helped to ensure they remained in the top-flight for another year.
The former England manager will be desperate to keep the Ivorian at Selhurst Park, whilst he is also keen on adding a couple of players to his squad, with reports in Italy suggesting that he is tracking a World Cup defender.
According to Calcio Mercato, Palace are one of a number of teams interested in making a move for Deigo Laxalt this summer with the attacking full-back catching their eyes with his performances for Uruguay at this year’s tournament.
Genoa are thought to be asking a fee of around 20million euro for the 25-year-old and the Eagles will be keen to add him, with rumours linking Andros Townsend with a move away from Selhurst Park.
Palace will be looking to bring in a couple of reinforcements this summer and Laxalt would certainly be an impressive addition.
The full-back is extremely versatile, having shown with his performances for the South Americans at the World Cup, and would certainly add some attacking threat to the South London outfit.
However, the competition Hodgson’s side could face to sign Laxalt could go against them, with rumoured clubs featuring within some of Europe’s biggest tournaments.
