Crystal Palace: Journalist makes key Eberechi Eze claim -Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze could return for the Eagles’ Premier League clash with Burnley, according to journalist Tom Barclay.

The Lowdown: Eze a huge miss

The 23-year-old was enjoying an excellent 2020/21 season, scoring four goals and registering six assists in the league, before injury struck him down.

Eze was ruled out for many months with a serious Achilles problem in May and he hasn’t featured for Palace since then.

The Englishman has been working hard on his recovery, however, and it appears as though his return to the side is now extremely close.

The Latest: Journalist makes big claim

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Barclay claimed Eze could feature in the trip to Burnley on November 20th, as Patrick Vieira’s side look to continue their promising form:

“He could have been on the bench, and I expect the way it is going he will be for the next game after the international break.”

How well do you remember these Palace signings? First up, where did Joachim Andersen arrive from this summer?

The Verdict: Potential huge boost

Having Eze back in the fold will be a major boost for Palace, with the winger an incredibly gifted footballer who was hailed as a ‘star man’ by Jamie Redknapp earlier in the year.

All of a sudden, with Eze joining Wilfried Zaha, Conor Gallagher and Odsonne Edouard in the same team – Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke are also options – the Eagles could have a truly formidable attacking unit.

Eze may take a little time to get back to his best, but judging by his influence last season, he could help Vieira’s men go up a further level.

According to WhoScored, out of Palace’s entire squad, Eze found more key passes per 90 in the final third than any Eagles player and also completed the most dribbles – marking himself out as a real attacking threat.

His return, as a result, will certainly come as a major boost for Vieira.

In other news, some Crystal Palace fans have bemoaned an injury update on one player. Find out who it is here.
