There are a few glances up for pints in the Football Transfer Tavern as The Guardian reports that Tony Pulis has confirmed he is looking to bring in ‘one or two players’ during the January transfer window.
Pulis, who replaced Ian Holloway at Selhurst Park last week, saw his side fall to a 1-0 defeat at Norwich City on Saturday which leaves them with just seven points, six off safety at the bottom of the Premier League.
However the former Stoke City boss was able to take the positives from the defeat at Carrow Road but understands that fresh faces will be a necessity in the New Year as the Eagles attempt something of a great escape.
He said: “They are a group who have worked really hard and have taken everything on board, although there were areas and situations against Norwich where we need to improve.
“We have to bring one or two players in, that is important. I think everyone understands that, and I think the group would be the first to be pleased with that.”
Players already linked with a January switch to Selhurst Park include Pulis’ former Stoke duo Peter Crouch and Matthew Etherington and it’ll come as no surprise if he makes a raid on his previous club.
