Not only has Pardew brought in the likes of Yohan Cabaye and Connor Wickham, but the Palace boss has also kept a hold of some of his big name players – in particular Tottenham target Yannick Bolasie.
The tricky winger enjoyed a superb second half of the season under Pardew last term, and is going into the new campaign as Palace’s main man.
His performances last season have attracted the attentions of Tottenham according to widespread reports, but Pardew is in no mood to do business, having slapped a massive £25million price tag on the wingers head, according to the Express.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add more flair to his attack, and is said to be looking to offload wingers Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon in the hope of funding a move for Bolasie.
However, Pardew is confident of keeping his star man at Selhurst Park.
“I am pretty confident of keeping him,” Pardew said.
“He is a player that isn’t quite polished — you only need to see him to see that. But I cannot see anyone paying an excess of £25million because that’s what they are going to need to get him out. So, if they want to we will talk.
“There is no long-running saga. It is just fed by the media and the fact we have done really, really well. We have had no bids for him. None.
“Not one phone call for Yannick Bolasie so it is actually not true at all.”
A group of Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern feel that Bolasie is pivotal to the success of the London club, and are desperate to see him stay at the club.
