Crystal Palace remain interested in adding a former loanee to their ranks should he become available once again.
The Chelsea midfielder has struggled for game-time under Maurizio Sarri and lost his place in the England squad as a result.
Loftus-Cheek excelled whilst on loan with Palace last season and clearly made an impression on Roy Hodgson, who has admitted he would certainly be interested if Chelsea were prepared to let him go again.
“We admire him,” he told the Daily Mirror.
“Like a lot of other clubs I’m sure when the day comes when he becomes available for transfer, we will be sticking our noses into that. But whether we will get him again that’s another matter.
“He did an outstanding job for us when he came here and really for us answered all the questions that we hoped he would answer.”
Loftus-Cheek has found it difficult to break into Sarri’s squad this summer and has only been able to feature a handful of times.
The midfielder should look to move away in January should things not improve for the player and with how the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are playing, it is hard to see him getting a spot in the middle.
Palace would be a great option for him once again, however, as Hodgson pointed out, there will likely be a number of sides interested in taking the England international if he did become available.
