Crystal Palace secured Premier League football for next season and fans in the Transfer Tavern have been celebrating ever since.
The Eagles beat Stoke City 2-1 in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, ensuring they would remain in the top-flight after what looked like an abysmal campaign to begin with.
Roy Hodgson would have been staring relegation in the face when he arrived at Selhurst Park, however, a number of key performances and results helped them to relieve the pressure from them with one game to go.
However, one of the displays from one man this season has proved to frustrate those at the south London outfit, with The Mirror reporting that Palace are ready to listen to offers for Christian Benteke.
The Belgium international has struggled to make an impact this year, having only scored three goals and the Eagles would be prepared to sell him should they receive a large portion of the £27million they spent on him to bring him from Liverpool in 2016.
The Palace fans in the Tavern will be disappointed with the way Benteke’s season has gone and would have been hoping he had more of an impact. Although he was disrupted with a number of injuries along the campaign, a number of the locals would have still expected more from him and will not be too concerned should he leave, as long as they can bring someone else in.
