Crystal Palace picked up another crucial win yesterday as they overcame rivals Brighton and Hove Albion to give themselves a massive chance of survival in the Premier League and pull clear of the bottom three.
The Eagles have dramatically improved since Roy Hodgson took the reins earlier in the season, and they now look well on course to seal another season in the Premier League and get on with planning their summer recruitment strategy.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord has been impressed with the Eagles, but he thinks they need to make some quality signings in the summer, and one man he sees as a perfect capture is Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney.
The former Hull man has been sensational for the Cottagers over the past 18 months and looks well on his way to the top flight, either with Fulham or by way of a summer move.
Cairney would have no problem adapting to life at Selhurst Park and is the sort of player who could well have a point to prove. While Cairney would need to prove himself in the Premier League, there is little to suggest that he would not be a superb capture for Palace if they can indeed secure his signing.
Tremendous on the ball, with excellent dead ball delivery and a wicked long range shot on him, Cairney would be a superb signing for Roy Hodgson’s men.
Palace fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
