Crystal Palace snubbed by potential €21.5m recruit

Brahimi.jpgThe Crystal Palace fans who were trying their luck on the fruit machines here in the Transfer Taverns have been disappointed by the news that Yacine Brahimi is not interested in a move to their team.

Recent reports had suggested that Brahimi was set to move from Portuguese outfit FC Porto to Palace, who were reportedly willing to shell out €21.5 million for the Algerian.

However, new reports from Portuguese media claim that Brahimi is not keen on a Selhurst Park switch and would prefer to stay in Portugal until a bigger club shows an interest in his services.

Porto have done business with several of the world’s biggest clubs in recent years, having sold pair Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando to Manchester City, whilst full-backs Danilo and Alex Sandro left for Real Madrid and Juventus respectively.

But the Portuguese club, who have become accustomed to selling their star players for big money, are adamant that the Algerian international is currently ‘non-transferable’.

The winger, who can also be utilised as a more central playmaker, has scored 4 and assisted 4 more in 18 appearances this season and would have been a valuable addition to Alan Pardew’s attacking options.

Palace fans, would you like to see your club continue to pursue Brahimi? Let us know in the comments below!
