The Eagles beat a host of rival clubs to secure England U21 international Patrick Bamford on-loan for the season but ESPN indicate Chelsea could end the agreement early, bringing Bamford back to Stamford Bridge.
Bamford has excelled in recent years, starring on-loan with Middlesbrough last term, but Chelsea decided a spell at a Premier League side would be beneficial to his development. However, they’re concerned about the lack of opportunities offered by Palace.
Crystal Palace have started Bamford just once this term, in the Capital One Cup, with three further appearances coming from the bench. If that doesn’t change, then Chelsea will recall Bamford in January and send him on-loan elsewhere.
Bamford faces competition from Marouane Chamakh and Connor Wickham at Selhurst Park, whilst Chelsea could do with his services after their atrocious start to the season.
Palace fans at the bar believe Chelsea and Bamford should be patient this term but have stated they will be extremely unhappy if his talents aren’t utilised by Pardew soon.
Crystal Palace fans, should Bamford be getting more playing time at Stamford Bridge? Let us know in the comments below!
