Bournemouth fans in the Football Transfer Tavern admit they are still pinching themselves when they see their side run out for a Premier League game.
The reality is yet to sink in for some supporters, but not the players it seems, who were unfortunate not to take something from Liverpool at Anfield a week ago
However, the Cherries ran out 4-3 winners over West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday, and Bournemouth fans here in the Tavern are still ecstatic!
Now it seems the Premier League new boys have turned their attentions to adding an experienced striker to their ranks, with the Guardian claiming a £5million bid for Crystal Palace forward Glenn Murray has been made.
Murray impressed during the latter part of last season for the Eagles, but the arrival of £8million striker Connor Wickham from Sunderland has seen him drop down the pecking order at Selhurst Park.
Palace boss Alan Pardew has stated he would like to keep the former Brighton forward despite the bid.
“Glenn Murray is very much our player. He has been and will be brilliant for this football club,” Pardew said. “As much as we owe Glenn, he owes us for the platform that we’ve given him in the Premier League and I have a great relationship with him.”
A number of Cherries fans feel Murray would be an excellent addition, but £5 million is a tad steep for a player who is 31-years-old!
