The Evening Standard is reporting that Alan Pardew could be set to send Patrick Bamford back to Chelsea after the youngster has seen playing time limited.
Bamford, who was prolific during a loan spell with Middlesbrough last season, has played just 16 minutes of football in the Premier League during his time at Crystal Palace this season, with Pardew favouring Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle. Speaking about Bamford, Pardew said:
“If he does not play any real time between now and January, we will have to look at it.
“Patrick is working hard. He has had a lot of competition. He is trying to understand the way we play. But if he gets the chance, I am sure he will look to take it. He is fighting for his right to get into the team.”
The Crystal Palace fans in The Transfer Tavern are not too concerned at the news, and agree with their manager that Bamford needs to be playing regular football to continue his education in the game.
