Crystal Palace will face competition for Dru Yearwood

Crystal Palace are thought to be keeping tabs on an exciting young prospect, however, they may be about to face some competition for him.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Brentford have become the latest side to take an interest in Dru Yearwood.

The Premier League outfit are thought to have been tracking the teenager for a number of months as he has continued to impress during his time at Southend United.

However, it appears that his time at Roots Hall could be about to come to an end as Palace and Brentford are set to battle it out for his signature.

Roy Hodgson is thought to be keen on bringing some of England’s hottest prospects to Selhurst Park and Yearwood is believed to be one of the brightest talents.

The Verdict:

Yearwood is a bright talent and there is no doubt that he could go far in the game with the right development.

Palace could be a great club to help aid his progress within the game, however, they could find the lure of Brentford too much for the 18-year-old to ignore, as he would have a better chance of getting regular minutes with the first-team.

It remains to be seen if the Eagles do look to make an offer for the midfielder in January, or if he will be plucked by the Championship outfit instead, with Southend believed to be preparing themselves for his possible departure.
