Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern breathe a sigh of relief after their Premier League status was confirmed for another season.
With the club rooted to the bottom of the table under Frank de Boer, Eagles fans were fearing the worst. Despite having just six points on the board at the time of his arrival, Roy Hodgson successfully turned the club’s fortunes around and guided them to safety.
Next on the ex-England manager’s agenda is to strengthen the squad in the upcoming transfer window. The future of Wilfried Zaha is up in the air, and goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is yet to extend his contract with the club.
To add some competition to the goalkeeping ranks, Palace should try to sign Swansea shot-stopper, Lukasz Fabianski, who is set to depart the club following their relegation. The former Arsenal man has established himself as one of the best ‘keepers in the league in recent seasons. He is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt.
The 33-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract at the Liberty Stadium and will available if the right offer arrives for his services. Indeed, Palace would be foolish to pass up on the opportunity to sign the Polish international.
