Benteke must watch his back with Sorloth eager to succeed

Crystal Palace have already shown to be a stronger, more potent threat for any team this season as Roy Hodgson has now had a pre-season to fully embed his tactics within the team.

The former England manager came good once again to help Palace escape danger last season and now it seems after the summer that the Eagles are ready to kick on and improve.

With a host of new signings, Palace, like a number of other Premier League teams, will take time to gel together as a team but one player who is ready to have a great season at Selhurst Park is Alexander Sorloth, who is valued at £6.3 million on Transfermarkt.

The 22-year-old started wearing Crystal Palace colours in January but after only making four appearances from then until the end of last season, it seemed he wasn’t ready to make the jump into the Premier League.

This season though, he has already bagged a goal, unlike fellow striker Christian Benteke, who could be in danger of losing his position to the Norwegian forward.

Benteke, who only scored three leagues last season has struggled for form once again so far in the 2018/19 and with stiff competition now from Jordan Ayew and particularly Alexander Sorloth, his position is surely in jeopardy.

Sorloth is a strong, tall forward that has worked hard over the summer period to ensure he is ready to capture any chance thrown to him by manager Roy Hodgson. The manager has publicly stated the hopes he has for Alexander Sorloth this season and should the early season form continue, the Norwegian could soon be a star at Selhurst Park.
