Many Crystal Palace fans will be excited for football to return after winger Andros Townsend posted a photo on Instagram of himself back training at the club.
The photo, which was supported with the caption, ‘Great to be back’ shows Townsend training on his own as the Premier League allows players to return for the first time since football was postponed, via Sky News.

Townsend has been a great servant for the club since he signed from Newcastle United back in July 2016 for £14.04 million, per Transfermarkt. He has already made 140 appearances, scoring 23 times and picking up ten assists and he even managed to pick up the Premier League ‘Goal of the Season’ last campaign for his great strike against Manchester City in the Eagles’ shock 3-2 victory at the Etihad, via Crystal Palace.
However this campaign has been a struggle for him as he suffered an injury which ruled him out for eight games, per Transfermarkt, and even though he has been fit for the last five fixtures, he has only played 13 minutes of football due to the fact that Roy Hodgson is preferring the attacking trio of Christian Benteke, Wilfried Zaha, and Jordan Ayew.
Is the Palace team better with our without Townsend?
Clearly Andros is raring to go and he will be hoping that he can return to the starting eleven sooner rather than later by impressing in training.
Fans will also be excited by the image as it means the Premier League is moving ever closer to a return. Palace were in great form before football was postponed and had won their last three games 1-0 which helped them move away from the relegation zone and they now sit in eleventh, per BBC Sport, so supporters will be keen to see them back in action and will hope that they can continue their excellent form.
