The Crystal Palace fans around the Transfer Tavern are in good voice following the confirmation that their side will remain in the Premier League.
Things could have definitely been a lot worse for Roy Hodgson and his team, so much so that they need to ensure they spend big again in the up and coming transfer window. Their main weakness as a team this season has arguably been their inability to look threatening in attack, even though that no longer seems accurate with the form that Wilfried Zaha is showing.
However, the Eagles can’t rely on Zaha alone – given that he’s had his share of injury problems, not to mention the fact that Hodgson needs to be able to rotate – and so moving for another attacker to provide more depth and quality makes sense. One player that could be a decent fit is Liverpool forward Danny Ings.
Valued at £7.2 million by Transfer Markt, Ings has finally seen off his injury woes to be apart of the Liverpool squad over the last few weeks and his hard-work and energy on the pitch still shines through despite months of sitting on the sideline.
At 25-years-old, Danny Ings is soon to enter the peak point of his career, where surely he would prefer to be the main striker rather than a benchwarmer at Anfield.
Let’s not forget, he bagged 11 league goals during his last season at Burnley, so he knows where the net is.
Christian Benteke has not been in good form all season although a striking partner like Danny Ings could be exactly what he needs in order to improve his game. Ings is capable of doing the hard graft, running and chasing balls, then finding Benteke in the box to dispatch the ball home.
Maybe that’s a far-fetched imagination but our punters seemingly agree that Danny Ings really could be an inspired signing if Palace pursue the Englishman.
