Many Crystal Palace fans have given their responses to the news that the Eagles are knocking at the door of free agent Danny Simpson.
According to TEAMtalk, Palace are considering making a move for the 32-year-old right-back – but also face competition from their biggest rivals, Brighton.
The report suggests that both clubs have made contact with the agent of the former Premier League champion. It goes onto say that if a move to stay in England’s top tier does not materialise, then Simpson is keen on a move to the States and the MLS.
Simpson was released by Leicester City when his contract expired in July and has since been training with Celtic for much of the summer, however, it is the Premier League that he has his eyes on.
Crystal Palace are currently short on right-backs, having lost their player of the season in Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United. And, the London club aren’t exactly blessed with loads of quality options at right-back, with Joel Ward and Martin Kelly currently the only two players who can play in that position.
So, what do Palace fans think about the potential prospect of signing Danny Simpson?
Here are some of the responses from Palace fans below…
Might as well take him for now

Joel Ward does need some competition at right back, as much as I respect the lad!

Don’t see why not at this point, 1 year contract, could still bring in another quality RB in January and release Simpson at end of season

Yes big time

I like Medhi Zeffane way more than Simpson. And don't know why they aren't looking into Sturridge either.

I think with his record he'd fit in with Brighton's defence better
