Crystal Palace: Fans discuss Kevin Phillips following tweet - Crystal Palace

A lot of Crystal Palace fans have nothing but praise for former striker Kevin Phillips after a fan page asked the faithful to describe the player in one word on Twitter.

The English attacker only made 21 appearances for the South London side, but that is because he was signed on a free from Blackpool in July 2013 when he was 40, per Transfermarkt.

The player was signed by Ian Holloway as someone who could come on if needed and also to help the forwards at the club, but no one could have imagined how crucial he would be as he scored seven goals, including the equaliser against Peterborough to seal a playoff position for the club on the final day of the season, per Crystal Palace. Added to that, he also netted the only goal in the playoff final against Watford to promote the Eagles into the Premier League, via The Guardian.

It is safe to say that had he not scored that penalty at Wembley or been involved in the final game of that Championship season, Palace might not be a comfortable top flight side today, and the fanbase respect his efforts at the club in that short spell.

Here is what fans had to say about the player:

Palace fans, do you think the club could have got into the Premier League without Phillips? Comment below!
