Many Crystal Palace fans have shared their frustration at Roy Hodgson and the midfield that he has been picking.
Do you trust Steve Parish to spend in January?
A Crystal Palace fan account on Twitter, @PalaceEaglesC0m, spoke after Palace’s 2-0 loss at home to Leicester on Sunday, referencing how disappointing the Eagles’ creativity had been. The account went on to ask whether the midfield three of Cheikhou Kouyate, Luka Milivojevic and James McArthur – Roy Hodgson’s preferred midfield this season – was too defensive, and many fans think it is, especially at home.
McArthur and Milivojevic have both started 10 games this season, while Kouyate has started nine, making them Palace’s most utilised central midfielders. Between them, there have been just two goals scored and just one assist – and both goals have come from the penalty spot, according to stats from WhoScored.
Even though Palace have made a pretty good start this season, there are goal problems for everyone to see. They have scored just 10 goals from 11 league games this term, making them the lowest scorers in the top half of the Premier League.
With Palace playing such a defensive midfield three, they are relying much more on the potency of the top three, which has tended to be Wilfried Zaha, Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp, who only have four goals between them all season, all thanks to Ayew.
These fans have had their say on the Palace midfield, with many saying they would like to see more of Max Meyer and Victor Camarasa:
Need to drop Luka for Meyer/Camarassa and let Macca play that role as he is better at it. Send Schlupp out on loan to Yeovil when Townsend is fit.

No threat upfront that cost us yet again struggle to score one goal

Give camarasa a go give meyer a few games and see what happens, we are in a healthy position right now

At home, yes, plain and simple for me, said it for a long time now. Should be trying to dominate at home, play creative players, a Meyer or Camarasa

That is why we do better away, certainly the West Ham win.
No threat at home unless Ayew scores from his two chances
