Crystal Palace: Fans look back at fixture which was key to their promotion

A lot of Crystal Palace fans are remembering how crucial a victory the club picked up in their promotion charge back in the 2012/13 season after a post on Twitter.
It was the final game of the season against Peterborough and the club needed a win to secure a playoff place. However, they made Eagles fans wait until the last ten minutes to secure a top-six finish. Indeed, veteran striker Kevin Phillips scored the equaliser in the 83rd minute and then captain Mile Jedinak secured the 3-2 win with a towering header to send the South London side to a semi-final tie against Brighton, via BBC Sport.
They eventually were promoted to England’s top flight after beating Watford at Wembley in the final. In terms of survival, the team has not looked back since and are currently enjoying their longest run in the Premier League whilst looking a comfortable mid-table side under Roy Hodgson, via Premier League.
Crystal Palace shared highlights from the historic game on social media, and fans have loved remembering the great day whilst football has currently been postponed due to recent events.
Here’s what fans had to say following the tweet:
