A lot of Crystal Palace fans are discussing former player John Salako after a fan posted a tweet appreciating the player.
The winger began his career with Palace in the mid 1980’s. He was in the side for the 1990 FA Cup final, via playwithalegend. In 1990-91 he memorably scored twice in the Eagles’ 3-0 win over Manchester United in the league.
He eventually left Palace in August 1995. He made 215 appearances and scored twenty-two goals, before playing for other clubs in London including Brentford, Charlton Athletic and Fulham, per Soccerbase.
He did make a return to Selhurst Park however when he joined Alan Pardew’s coaching staff as a first team coach from August 2015 until the manager was sacked in December 2016, via Premier League Heroes, whilst also playing in goalkeeping legend Julian Speroni’s testimonial in May 2015, per Crystal Palace.
Clearly he was a fan favourite as fans flooded the post to praise the Englishman, with one saying, “One of my favourites”.
