Crystal Palace: Fans react as Alexander Sorloth comments on links to Real Madrid

Many Crystal Palace fans are reacting to loaned out striker Alexander Sorloth’s comments about being linked to Spanish giants Real Madrid, he said to Norwegian TV via Liga Blatt.
The forward joined the Eagles on deadline day in January 2018 and has yet to score in English football, with Roy Hodgson loaning him out to Genk last season and then letting him go on a 2-year loan to Turkish League side Trabzonspor this campaign.
This is where he has enjoyed his best football, as he has scored 19 goals in 26 appearances, and his performances have reportedly caught the eye of many clubs, including Real Madrid, via The Evening Standard.
When asked about the transfer rumours, he said, “I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to play there. That’s the dream of every player.”
The links may have left Palace fans confused, but his offensive statistics in the Super Lig this season highlight that he is playing with a confidence that was not seen before, as he averages three shots per game, 1.2 key passes a game and 1.8 successful dribbles per game, via WhoScored.
For now, the player has a season and a half left on his loan deal, but if he continues scoring, it might be hard for the Eagles to keep hold of the Norweigan when he returns.
Here is what fans had to say following his comments:
💬 “To be compared with Lewandowski is an honour,”
“I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to play there (Madrid). That’s the dream of every player. But in the end, the decision is up to Trabzonspor.”#CPFC pic.twitter.com/Gk3tNtdf5R

He’s a decent player but just saying I’ve got the same amount of premier league goals as him

Never going to happen… we all saw him at Selhurst. Got to give it to his agent, really putting in a shift!

Nowhere near the level of Ayew or Benteke.

Strange one this because in the glorious red & blue of South London’s finest Sorloth was marginally better than Bamford! 🙈 https://t.co/bdBmqKyq76

His agent and the Turkish press etc can hype him all they like, he’s utter garbage! Give it 12 months and nobody will remember his name. 100% fraud https://t.co/kg5ovRULzB
