Crystal Palace: Fans react as Nathaniel Clyne is linked with a reunion

Recent reports have suggested that the club might be interested in bringing defender Nathaniel Clyne back to Selhurst Park, and a lot of Crystal Palace fans are reacting to this news.
The reports were posted onto Twitter by CPFC News HQ, who also explain that fellow Premier League clubs AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United are interested in the right-back. Media outlet Goal believe that there have been no discussions between Clyne and Liverpool over a new contract, with it looking likely that he will be released this summer.
The Eagles might be his favoured destination however, as he came from the Palace academy and made his professional his debut in 2009, per Transfermarkt. He went on to feature at right-back for the South London side 137 times before moving to Southampton and then Liverpool, per Transfermarkt.
Would you bring Clyne back to Selhurst Park?
Yes

No

His injuries at Anfield meant young academy prospect Trent Alexander-Arnold would take his place, and no one could have expected his sheer rise as he quickly became one of the best full-backs in football. Clyne, who also featured for the Three Lions, is now struggling for game time at the Reds. He won the European Super Cup this season but didn’t play, and sadly missed out on the Reds’ Champions League title last term as he was on loan at Bournemouth.
It will be interesting to see if the club bring him back to South London, but it might be a risky move to make with his lack of game time, and also due to the fact that he is now 29 years-old, per Transfermarkt.
Fans appear to be split on his potential return and whilst some are for it, others suggested that they would prefer West Brom’s Nathan Ferguson instead. Here is what some had to say…

He is out of contract at Liverpool this summer, with the 29-year-old right-back set to become a free agent.

Would take him as long as he doesn’t have ridiculous wage compete with Joel. Not the player he used to be but only 29 and bags of experience.

Bring him back!!!

We need younger players. This goes against everything the club have said about lowering the age of the squad. Can’t see it happening.
