Crystal Palace fans react to Max Meyer’s Carabao Cup performance

Crystal Palace supporters have been reasonably satisfied in recent times after seeing their side pick up their first home point of the Premier League season at the weekend.

Roy Hodgson’s men went into their meeting with struggling Newcastle United having lost each of their opening two matches at Selhurst Park, going down 2-0 to Liverpool and 2-1 to Southampton. But fresh from victory over Huddersfield Town in their preceding meeting, the Eagles finally got off the mark at home with a 0-0 draw against Rafa Benitez’s Magpies, a result which moved the Londoners up to 11th place in the Premier League table.

As such, there have been many satisfied Palace fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Max Meyer’s efforts in their 3-0 victory over West Brom in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

The attacker made the move to Selhurst Park during the summer after leaving German side Schalke at the expiration of his contract, although he hasn’t yet been able to regularly force his way into Hodgson’s starting line-up.

Nonetheless, the Germany international was given his second start for the Eagles on Tuesday night at the Hawthorns, and he didn’t disappoint in producing an excellent performance for Hodgson’s side to help them reach the next round.

And several Palace fans took to Twitter during the match to rave about the 23-year-old’s exploits against Darren Moore’s Baggies…
