Many Crystal Palace fans have responded on Twitter to a post from Sadiq Khan about the football club.
Following a report in the Evening Standard about the work Steve Parish is doing in the community, the Mayor of London tweeted about it praising the work the club is doing to improve the lives of young Londoners.
The story goes into detail about how the Palace chairman is wanting to “create an inspirational focal point” in the whole of south London through the club and its facilities. Parish goes onto say how he doesn’t think there’s much in the area that stands out in terms of excellence – and that’s what he wants the club to be; a “shining beacon of positivity”.
Despite the positive tweet from Khan, there was still a pretty negative response from a fair few fans, who want the Mayor to give the current stadium plans the go-ahead.
Whether these fans have certain political allegiances or not is unknown, but the focus was mainly on the want for him to have more of a say in getting the ball rolling on developing the stadium.
Here are some of the responses from fans below…
Well do something & help them get the stadium done so they can help more , housing is needed I agree but so is helping these kids get on the right path away from crime
