Crystal Palace: Fans recall great victory against Liverpool

A throwback post on Twitter from Crystal Palace has got a lot of the fanbase talking about a great away day victory against Liverpool back in April 2017.
It was a worrying start for the Eagles as the Reds’ early domination paid off and they took the lead thanks to Philippe Coutinho, via BBC Sport.
However, former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke returned to Anfield to haunt his old side as he levelled the scores just before half time. He then scored again midway through the second half, netting from a corner.
The South London side managed to hold on to take the three points, and also make it three victories at Anfield in a row. The win made the club’s safety in England’s top flight certain and was part of a memorable campaign under manager Sam Allardyce.
It is also the last time that Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost at home in the English top flight, via The Metro, making it an iconic fixture in the Premier League.
The Belgian striker had a great season for Palace, scoring 15 goals in the league, but since the 2016/17 campaign he has only managed five strikes in the Premier League, via Transfermarkt.
Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:

I long to see this Benteke again

❤️💙🔥🔥🔥🔥Shame Big Sam didn’t stick around for a second season. I enjoyed his brief spell at CPFC and his legacy in addition to saving our PL status is the signings of Milivojevic, Schlupp and PVA, all quality players and good value signings in a highly competitive market 👍
