Crystal Palace: Fans shocked as Sky Sports list Wilfried Zaha as the club’s MVP this season

A lot of Crystal Palace fans don’t understand how a post by Sky Sports Premier League on Twitter has named Wilfried Zaha as the club’s most valuable player (MVP) this campaign after players such as Jordan Ayew and Vicente Guaita have been more crucial.
If you look back at past campaigns Zaha has most certainly been the MVP, scoring 10 goals as well as picking up five assists in 2018/19 and nine goals plus three assists in 2017/18, via Premier League. He was so crucial that the club didn’t win for over two years, from September 2016 to December 2018, when he wasn’t in the side, per The Times.
However this season he hasn’t been at his best when it comes to goal contributions, and thankfully for the club Jordan Ayew has stepped up to take some of the weight off the Ivorian’s shoulders. Scoring an impressive eight goals this campaign puts him top of the goal scorers list at the club, per Transfermarkt, and he has won the Eagles 17 points on his own in the Premier League thanks to these goals, via Citisports.
There has also been Vicente Guaita, who has picked up nine clean sheets this season, whilst only conceding 28 goals in 27 games, via Premier League. Notable saves, like the one against Burnley, per Sutton and Croydon Guardian, have kept the Eagles winning or drawing in games and without him you do wonder how many points the side would have dropped.
Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:

Anyone watching us play this season knows it’s between Vicente Guaita or Jordan Ayew for our MVP. I’d go with Ayew as he’s scored some amazing goals for us this season. It’s not Zaha tho.
