A lot of the Crystal Palace fanbase are not scared to criticise former player Mike Flanagan, after a fan posted a tweet asking whether he was a hero or zero during his time at the club.

The forward signed for the Eagles from arch rivals Charlton in 1979, before he left the club a year later, per Soccerbase.

He also played for Queens Park Rangers and Cambridge United over the course of his football career which lasted from 1971-1986, via wherearetheynow.

It is fair to say that the fact he came from Charlton has not helped the Palace faithful have great memories of the player, but it is also clear from the comments that on the pitch he did not set the world alight whilst at the Selhurst Park.

There have been many players who have done that well at the club, more recently footballers such as Jordan Mutch and Jimmy Kebe did not make good impressions whilst playing for the Eagles, but it seems Flanagan gets added criticism because not only did he sign from Charlton but then he also went on to sign for fellow London rivals QPR.

Here is what fans had to say about the player:

Came from the Clowns. Looked like a clown. Played like a clown. Zero.
