Crystal Palace fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been boosted by the signing of James Tomkins from West Ham United this week, and now they could be celebrating another addition, but not quite yet.

Reports from Italy (via The Croydon Advertiser) are suggesting that the London club has seen a bid rejected for Palermo playmaker, Franco Vazquez today.

The 27-year-old who scored eight goals for the Italian club last season spent a year at Rayo Vallecano after moving from Palermo in 2012, before returning to the side in 2014 to play his football in Serie A once more.

Maurizio Zamparini, Palermo chairman, expects to see a revised offer from Palace in the coming days but the Eagles will have to move quick as fellow Premier League side, West Bromwich Albion, are also noted to be monitoring the Argentinian's situation.

The signing for Palace will see new additions in all areas, who have already put pen to paper with Steve Mandanda and Andros Townsend; they will have covered the goalkeeper, defence, forward and midfield areas.
