It’s been an embarrassing season for the Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern so far.
Indeed, with the Eagles propping up the bar gutted about six losses in a row and no goals scored, life couldn’t get much worse for our Palace-mad punters.
Well, so they thought…
According to the Daily Star, free agent striker Carlton Cole could REJECT a potential move to Selhurst Park in favour of a Championship club.
Roy Hodgson recently lost Christian Benteke to injury and is reportedly weighing up an emergency move for the 33-year-old as a result. However, they also claim that Cole would prefer a move to a second-tier side, with both Hull City and Bolton Wanderers understood to be keen on the seven-cap former England international.
It’s yet another blow for our resident Palace fans, who may not want Cole, though can’t believe it’s even being reported that he might consider the Tigers or the Trotters over them.
With Manchester United and Chelsea up next for Hodgson’s men, the mood could barely get lower amongst our south London locals right now.
