ESPNFC are reporting that sources close to them are saying that Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Sam Allardyce to replace Alan Pardew if results do not improve soon in the Premier League, something that is concerning our Eagles in the Transfer Tavern.
Certainly, the Eagles form in recent weeks has been nothing short of dreadful to see them plummet from the top half of the table to 16th place, just a point above the relegation zone, in shades of form from last season.
The Selhurst Park club struggled in the second half of 2015/16 and only their first half saved them from the drop so fans of the club will be nervous that things have turned sour so quickly this time around.
Indeed, the suggestion is that the former, ill-fated, England manager could come in to replace Pardew in a bid to steady the ship before it becomes too late to save it.
Allardyce has a good record of keeping clubs up when threatened with relegation with his most recent escape act performed with Sunderland only last season.
It’s believed if Palace lose against Swansea this weekend Pardew will lose his job and so all eyes will be on the Liberty Stadium this Saturday.
