QPR want around £20 million for attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, and the price is too much for Crystal Palace to remain interested in the player, according to the Sun.
Les Ferdinand, who is QPR’s sporting director, who was speaking on the Beautiful Game podcast earlier this week, said that Roy Hodgson’s side were interested in the playmaker, who has 12 goals and eight assists this season, via WhoScored.
Even though the Eagles have only spent £17.78 million in the last two seasons, per Transfermarkt, the price tag should not be making the club lose interest so easily.
Wilfried Zaha has constantly been linked with a move away from the club for the last couple of seasons, with the player formally submitting a transfer request after the club refused to let him go for less than the £80 million they wanted, via Sky Sports.

Even though he is playing a division below the 21-year-old could be a great long term replacement for the Ivorian, as the Championship player on average makes 1.9 key passes a game, is fouled 2.4 times a game and completes three dribbles per game, via Whoscored. For context, Zaha makes 1 key pass, is fouled 3.2 times and completes 4.7 dribbles per game.
Also, with journalist Matt Woosnam reporting, via the Athletic, last week that current attacking midfielder Max Meyer will be allowed to leave, the South London side should be looking at attracting such talent even if Zaha does not leave the club in order to boost their attacking options.
Eze averages more dribbles and key passes than most of the Palace squad, per WhoScored. Furthermore, given the average age of Palace’s squad, which is the second oldest in the league, via 101 Great Goals, therefore making a fairly big investment on a young talent could be a good statement of intent.
It seems like for such a young player, who can grow to become an even better footballer, £20 million, in the long run, does not seem like a lot and he would be a great addition to the squad.
