Crystal Palace fans have fallen deathly silent in the bar here at the Football Transfer Tavern as news has made it’s way through our doors that they could be set to lose one of their heroes for the second time.
According to reports from The Sun, Crystal Palace fan favourite, Wilfred Zaha’s Selhurst Park future is at risk after a falling out with the board.
The former Man United man was reportedly set to be offered a new contract by the Eagles at the end of last season but the club have backtracked on their promise.
The 23-year-old, has three years remaining on his £35k-a-week deal with the London club, who have decided that no player with more than a year remaining will be offered new deals.
As per The Sun’s report, in the wake of the winger’s bust up, North London side Watford are considering a move to bring the England international in.
To make matters worse, new arrival, Andros Townsend is on £70k-a-week whilst last seasons big signing, Yohan Cabaye, takes home £100k-a-week.
