Here at the Football Transfer Tavern we’ve been scratching our heads wondering how a player trades French champions PSG for the Premier League’s very own Crystal Palace. That appears to be the case with Yohan Cabaye who is expected to join the Eagles this summer as he looks to rejuvenate his stagnating career.
According to the Guardian the central midfielder would like a reunion with his old Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew who was the last man to get him performing at a world-class level.
Priced at £10 million Cabaye, who has struggled to make a name for himself in the French capital, would still be a massive signing for Palace and would definitely get the punters around here guessing how big of an impact the 29-year-old could make at the club.
Palace had a topsy-turvy season last year losing two managers in the space of five months before Pardew took over the reins and led them to a well-deserved 10th placed finish, though with their top scorer Glenn Murray only managing to put the ball in the back of the net seven times, Cabaye may just be what the South London club need to push on from last season!
