Crystal Palace should swoop on £9m-rated maestro and deepen Chelsea’s transfer woes

The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern are still emphatically celebrating their 5-0 romp over Leicester City last game week, having shown their best attacking intent all game long.

In what had been an awful start to the campaign, the Eagles well and truly redeemed themselves under Roy Hodgson, looking a completely different, menacing team. Long may that continue our punters say and, if it did then, Palace would have to look at signing some more talent during the summer.

One player who could be an inspired signing is Marco Van Ginkel, a midfielder valued at £9.00 million on Transfermarkt. The Chelsea loanee has only previously managed to feature in 11 minutes of Premier League football but having improved his game over in Holland massively, he could come back to sting Chelsea once again, like many other transfers have done in recent years.

The midfielder is captain of PSV and has scored a brilliant 16 goals in 32 games and for a central-midfielder that is a very good rate of scoring, one a striker would even be proud of. One a certain Christian Benteke would love!

Indeed, he also has a great range of passing and dribbling, making him an asset in attack as well as in defensive situations.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The midfielder is still only 25-years-old and it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see that Chelsea have made another transfer mistake in letting him leave the club permanently. Crystal Palace would face some stiff competition to get their man but with a number of players uncertain about their future at Selhurst Park, Marco Van Ginkel is a player who could easily adequately replace them.
