Crystal Palace have not enjoyed their best season yet but they’re clear of the relegation zone with the chance to build in this second half of the season.
Roy Hodgson will be fairly pleased with his team since they have suffered from losing a number of key players at different points in the season.
Injuries are a problem Palace and a number of other teams have had to overcome but now with their squad revitalised, it’s time for the Eagles to kick-on.
However, kicking on would be significantly harder if they lost Wilfried Zaha in the January transfer window, something that is a genuine possibility.
Crystal Palace need to be prepared for this, by plotting to sign a player like Borussia Dortmund’s Marius Wolf in his place.
Wolf, (who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt) would be a very good option for Crystal Palace, should worst come to worst and they lose their talisman Wilfried Zaha.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly (as per Bild) interested in a deal to sign the Ivorian, meaning the Eagles must be prepared to source a good replacement should he leave the club.
It would be hard to deal with from a Crystal Palace perspective, should they lose their best and most influential player but no one is irreplaceable and the Eagles may do good things by taking Marius Wolf as part of the deal.
Since joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Wolf has yet to be given a real chance – only making seven starts so far this campaign.
Yet last season, his full capabilities were on show when he played for Frankfurt, as he found the back of the net six times, as well as assisting his team-mates on 11 occasions.
Would Wolf be a good signing for Palace… Let us know!
