Suddenly, Crystal Palace don’t have a striker crisis anymore. Well, at least they didn't for literally one game to see the 2018/19 season off in style.

If their bonkers season-ender on Sunday proved anything, the Eagles have their perfect striker in loanee Michy Batshuayi. In what could’ve been his final game for Palace, the 25-year-old scored a fantastic brace to cap off a fairly prolific loan tenure.

However, the Eagles can’t just move on from him. Batshuayi is ideal for their system, having enough hunger, mobility and tenacity to be a menace in what looks a wonderfully rapid frontline. If they didn’t realize it before, watching Batshuayi tear up Bournemouth must have opened up Steve Parish’s eyes.

According to reports (via Evening Standard), the Eagles want to make the Belgian’s deal permanent. Surely the Belgian won’t come cheap, but Parish needs to work on his signing to fix the striker problem at his club. Indeed, Batshuayi netted 5 goals in 11 Premier League appearances for the Eagles, giving a much better return than the sloppy Christian Benteke.

The former Dortmund man's excellent link-up ability with Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend helped bring more efficiency to their attack. Batshuayi proved to have a complete striking ability, whizzing past defenders to score some beautiful goals.

If Palace can secure his future quickly, maybe the Zaha rumours would finally stop...

Obviously, the Eagles need a quality goal-scorer to provide 10-15+ goals from up front. Batshuayi fits the bill perfectly, having the perfect amount of experience to thrive in a full Premier League season. He can perfectly lead their line to score many goals next season, but Palace will need to show ambition (and a whole lot of money)  to tempt the Belgian into joining them.
