Crystal Palace: Fans discuss former manager Steve Coppell - Crystal Palace

A lot of the Crystal Palace fanbase are praising former manager Steve Coppell after he did an interview with the club recently.

Due to recent events causing football to be postponed, the club are streaming historic matches and the lastest one to be replayed was the 1990 FA Cup final against Manchester United. The game ended 3-3 after extra-time and the Eagles would eventually lose the replay, via Crystal Palace, but the first match was still a great day in the club’s history.

Coppell was manager at the time and it was part of his first managerial spell at Selhurst Park, in which he was in charge from 1984-1993. He won 179, drew 113 and lost 150, which is a very impressive record and gave him a 40.5 win percentage, via Managerstats.

Clearly he is remembered fondly by the Palace faithful who flooded to the tweet promoting the interview to praise the Englishman, who also enjoyed spells at Reading, Portsmouth and Brentford, via Transfermarkt.
