Crystal Palace fans have reacted on Twitter to the club wishing Jairo Riedewald a happy birthday.
Many responded as if they had forgotten about the Dutchman, who has struggled to find himself in the team at Selhurst Park ever since Roy Hodgson joined the club after Frank De Boer’s departure.
Since joining Palace, Riedewald has played just 12 league games for the club – the latest coming on April 14 2018, over a season ago.
The defender has been nothing but a back-up player for Palace since joining the club as just a 20-year-old. With the player now turning 23, it isn’t much of a surprise that Palace fans are acting as if they have forgotten about him, as he has rarely played for Hodgson apart from in cup competitions.
Palace fans reacted on Twitter joking as if they had forgotten about the defender. Some fans questioned whether he was still alive? And one even suggested that Palace give his career back as a present for his birthday.
