Crystal Palace fans have been regular fixtures in the Transfer Tavern as they look to down their sorrows this season, and the latest report has got them heading to order fresh rounds.
The Sun states European giants Paris Saint-Germain will turn their attention to Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, after hitting a brick-wall in their quest to land Michy Batshuayi from Premier League leaders Chelsea.
PSG are eyeing additional recruits this month to bolster Unai Emery’s side in their push to return the Ligue 1 title, with the Parisians currently sat third in the table and three points behind OGC Nice and Monaco ahead of them.
The French giants have identified alternative targets this month after their chances of landing Batshuayi appeared bleak and Crystal Palace will have a real battle on their hands to keep Belgian ace Benteke, who could swap a relegation-battle for a title-charge and Champions League football.
Benteke is Palace’s top-scorer this season with eight goals, although the 26-year-old has not found the net for six matches- with his last goal coming against Hull City in early December.
Our landlord believes Sam Allardyce’s side must fight tooth and nail to keep hold of Benteke, as he feels the Eagles will certainly be relegated without him.
Would Crystal Palace be doomed without Christian Benteke? Let us know in the comments below!
