Fears mount at Crystal Palace after Parish talks

The late signing of Mamadou Sakho seriously excited the Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern last night.

Indeed, the Frenchman’s return to Selhurst Park has been celebrated often and loudly in our bar and our punters clad in red and blue are hoping to see him recapture the kind of form that made him such a loan hero in January.

So, while that’s all well and good, reports from the Daily Mirror have brought our resident Eagles crashing back down to earth.

They claim Palace boss Frank De Boer fears he will be SACKED this weekend after a dismal start to the campaign. They’ve lost all three games under his watch thus far and the Dutchman is understood to have held crunch talks with Steve Parish as a result.

Now, the former Inter Milan and Ajax coach is believed to be clinging onto his job in south London, with former England boss Roy Hodgson said to be a potential replacement.

Though it’s not worked out as yet, the Palace-mad punters hope De Boer is given more of a chance.

Landlord’s Verdict:

De Boer is clearly trying to build something, so what’s the point in giving him three games? Palace certainly have the players to change things up 10 games into the campaign, so hand the Dutchman a bit more time.

Surely Hodgson isn’t much more inspiring.
