Roy Hodgson is still searching for a new forward who can steer Crystal Palace away from danger in the second half of the season.

The former England manager has been desperate to bolster his attacking options with Christian Benteke struggling for form and fitness. Jordan Ayew has failed to have the desired impact during his loan spell from Swansea leaving Palace heavily reliant on Wilfred Zaha in the final third. With less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window, time is running out for the Eagles.

Palace did target former Liverpool forward, Dominic Solanke, but the move collapsed due to concerns with his fitness. The youngster instead went on to join Bournemouth leaving Hodgson to seek for alternatives.

One man who could be the answer to their problems is former Manchester United forward – Giuseppe Rossi. Valued at £900k by Transfermarkt, the Italian forward is without a club after leaving Genoa in the summer. The forward reportedly (via ESPN) has offers to play in the MLS but is eager to continue his career in Europe – he is currently training with the Red Devils in order to boost his fitness.

The 31-year-old was considered one of the most promising youngsters during his time with United but injuries plagued his career. Nevertheless, Rossi still has the quality to give Hodgson a decent attacking option in the final third. A third spell in the Premier League could be just what the former Italy international needs to rediscover his old form.

Not only would Rossi add another solid option, but his experience would also be vital to the Palace youngsters hoping to break into the first-team. Available on a free, this move should be a no brainer.
