Hodgson and Parish busy as Crystal Palace reportedly eye transfer splurge before deadline

Crystal Palace fans here in the Tavern are looking for their side to strengthen in these last few days, as Premier League safety is not yet ensured for the Eagles.

Appointing Roy Hodgson has been a season defining move for the Eagles, as the former England manager looks to have secured a future in the Premier League. However, with other teams looking to strengthen in their bid for a future in the Premier League, Palace will be looking to match this with some additions of their own. As according to reports in the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are eyeing a triple swoop for Ashley Barnes, Jake Livermore and Ibrahim Amadou in these closing few days.

Ashley Barnes has been one of the shock performers this campaign for Burnley, as an £11 million bid is being readied for the striker after netting four goals already this campaign. Indeed, after being one of Chelsea’s shock targets already this season, it’s clear to see that the 28-year-old is attracting all the right attention as a reward for his high-quality displays thus far. And, while acquiring a striker is becoming a necessity for the Eagles, they’ve also turned their attention to the possible signings of Jake Livermore and Ibrahim Amadou in a major reshuffle.

In the defensive-third that caused Palace so many problems during their early season woes, Hodgson is looking to the signing of Ibrahim Amadou in order to bolster a defence that recently saw Jaroslaw Jach join on a three-year deal. And, with Jake Livermore being a former player of Hodgson’s, the England international is being eyed up as a player to bring determination and promise to what’s been a rather flat Palace midfield. But there’s no doubt that securing all three players could go a long way to not only ensuring the safety of Palace, but can also have a huge say in the future of the club.

Landlord’s Verdict:

All three players have considerable amounts of quality at their disposal, and can all play massive parts in the vital second half of the season for Palace. Having seen Roy Hodgson’s performances so far in charge of the Eagles, strengthening the squad could be huge under a manager that’s been able to get the best out of the squad so far. But, the most important factor is securing a striker, and Ashley Barnes form this season could see him become an important addition at Selhurst Park.
