Crystal Palace look to have secured their place in the Premier League for next season, and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping they can keep hold of their main stars.
The Eagles beat Leicester City at the weekend with an emphatic 5-0 victory, with Wilfried Zaha once again the star of the show. His performances have no doubt been crucial to his team’s survival efforts and has attracted a lot of unwanted interest from Premier League sides.
Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have all been rumoured to have an interest in the Ivorian – however, Palace chief Roy Hodgson has reiterated their desire not to let him leave Selhurst Park this summer.
He told Football.London: ‘Keeping Wilf will be a club issue. He is not going to stay because of my blue eyes.
‘He will stay because he likes playing at Selhurst Park and he thinks this is the right club for him. A lot will depend on what offers come to the club.
‘The only thing I can say with any certainty is that there is no one at the club who wants him to leave.’
And these comments are sure to intrigue and perhaps thrill our resident Palace fans, who will undoubtedly be hoping that their club can indeed keep the 25-year-old as they seek to push up the Premier League table next season.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Palace fans in the Tavern will be hoping Zaha will stay at the club for as long as possible and not risk losing him again.
The locals will be desperate for the club to avoid entertaining any bids for him in the summer, and will want to add to help him thrive more.
