Huge boost for Crystal Palace fans ahead of survival bid – Report

Crystal Palace fans here in the Tavern can’t imagine life at Selhurst Park without injuries, as casualties continue to hamper a potential survival bid.

Roy Hodgson hasn’t been blessed with the best of luck in recent times gone by, as Palace continue to feel the effects of constant injuries taking their toll on the rest of the campaign. However, there’s, at last, some positive news on the injury front for the Eagles, as one of their most influential defenders appears to be nearing an all-important return to the side, as according to reports in the Standard, Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho is to return from injury for the club’s clash with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Crystal Palace received a much-needed injury boost after scans revealed that Frenchman Mamadou Sakho has not suffered any serious damage to his calf, as the 28-year-old will now be fit to face rivals Spurs in a couple of weeks time. Indeed, after only just returning from being sidelined for two months, the central defender epitomised Palace’s luck after aggravating the problem in training.

Indeed, for a Crystal Palace side that had to make do without 10 senior players for their Premier League encounter with Everton, an injury crisis is beginning to have huge implications on the Eagles’ survival bid. However, Hodgson will be hoping that this is a turn in the road for the London club, as the return of the influential Sakho could help springboard a much-needed rise up the table for Palace.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Crystal Palace are going through a rough patch at the worst possible time, with the absence of some of their most senior players causing for worrying times at Selhurst Park. However, the return of Mamadou Sakho will be a huge boost for the Palace faithful, as a reliable figure that always seems to deliver on the defensive front for the Eagles.
