However, there’s, at last, some positive news on the injury front for the Eagles, as one of their most influential defenders appears to be nearing an all-important return to the side, as according to reports in the Standard, Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho is to return from injury for the club’s clash with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Crystal Palace received a much-needed injury boost after scans revealed that Frenchman Mamadou Sakho has not suffered any serious damage to his calf, as the 28-year-old will now be fit to face rivals Spurs in a couple of weeks time. Indeed, after only just returning from being sidelined for two months, the central defender epitomised Palace’s luck after aggravating the problem in training.
Indeed, for a Crystal Palace side that had to make do without 10 senior players for their Premier League encounter with Everton, an injury crisis is beginning to have huge implications on the Eagles’ survival bid. However, Hodgson will be hoping that this is a turn in the road for the London club, as the return of the influential Sakho could help springboard a much-needed rise up the table for Palace.
