Crystal Palace and Roy Hodgson have endured a turbulent time together so far but things are looking up for the Eagles having strengthened in the summer.
Palace were a team many thought were doomed after their awful start to last season but Roy Hodgson came in to save the day and has continued to show why his Palace team are a completely different opponent now.
He has brought in a number of talented players over the summer and the Eagles are hoping that they can provide the quality to ensure a successful season is achieved.
However, the start of the season has highlighted a young star that was already at Crystal Palace but now looks set to become a regular in the first-team.
His name is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and he is a terrific young prospect in the right-back position.
The 20-year-old has been brilliant defensively and potent in attack, providing his team-mates with chances, of which he has already got an assist to his name so far this season.
Now that he is set to take over the right-back position, one man will unfortunately miss out due to Wan-Bissaka’s huge rise to prosperity.
Joel Ward is a well-liked defender for Crystal Palace but after the short but brilliant arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka last season, it now looks like the 28-year-old is being replaced by a younger, fresher, right-back.
Ward, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) has been at the club ever since 2012 but has never really been tested for his position. Now competition is thick and fast in the form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and with youth, energy and desire on his side, it seems that Ward’s Crystal Palace future is bleak.
