As quoted by Telefoot (via The London Evening Standard) Crystal Palace goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has not ruled out moving on to a “bigger club” from the Eagles.
The news comes as a further kick in the teeth to our Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern who are really being put through the mill at the moment.
They have seen their side lose six league games on the bounce, with them plummeting to just above the relegation zone after a farcical display at Swansea at the weekend.
After coming back from 3-1 down against the Swans to lead 4-3 with a few minutes to play they still managed to lose the game 5-4, with their defending and mental strength coming in for a lot of scrutiny from many.
They are now just above the bottom three on goal difference in 17th after 18th placed Hull City earned a point at home to West Brom over the weekend, and now the Frenchman’s comments only appear to be making the mood worse.
The ‘keeper has impressed since signing from Marseille in the summer but, whilst out through a knee injury, he hasn’t ruled out moving on once again:
“Could I end up at a bigger English club?” Mandanda mused.
“It will depend on my performances. In football, anything is possible.”
Palace’s next fixture is at home to Southampton with them looking increasingly desperate for something to go their way and end this run of form.
